Sustainability Governance
At Attendo, the ultimate responsibility for sustainability rests with the Board of Directors and Group Executive Management, but it is intended to permeate all aspects of the company’s operations.
The Board of Directors of Attendo approves the company’s strategy, Group policies, the annual sustainability statement, quarterly reports, sustainability targets included in incentive programs, and Attendo’s double materiality assessment. The Audit and Risk Committee reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of internal controls related to external sustainability reporting, the reliability of performance metrics and targets, and compliance with business ethics and Group policies. The CEO and Group Executive Management determine and develop Attendo’s business strategy, long-term objectives and related key performance indicators, set relevant targets, and annually address all material sustainability matters for Attendo.
Attendo’s Communications and Sustainability Director, together with the Head of Internal Control and Sustainability Reporting, ensures that sustainability aspects are integrated into the objectives and actions of the business areas in collaboration with the Business Area Presidents and the Director of Strategy and Business Development. They are also responsible for ensuring that Group policies cover material impacts, risks and opportunities, coordinating reporting and actions across the company, and ensuring compliance with ESRS. The Finance function is responsible for data collection and data quality at the Group level.
Attendo’s Group Internal Control function continuously works to develop and strengthen internal controls related to financial and sustainability reporting through preventive measures as well as annual reviews and evaluations. Attendo’s Business Area Directors are responsible for achieving long-term targets, making operational decisions, including those related to sustainability, and ensuring that systems and processes are in place to manage the company’s impacts, risks and opportunities, with quarterly reporting to Group Executive Management. Each business area has centralized support functions, such as Finance, HR, Quality and Business Development, which implement Group policies, collect and ensure data quality, and integrate sustainability into day-to-day operations. Care services are delivered locally through segment, regional, area and unit managers responsible for daily operations, while each employee is responsible for performing their work in accordance with Attendo’s Code of Conduct, policies and long-term objectives.
