40 years with Attendo

Attendo’s journey began in 1985, with an idea that was both challenging and groundbreaking at the time – to support older people with care needs in their own homes, with respect, safety, and warmth. In an era when nearly all care was publicly provided, few believed that independent providers could be part of the solution.

At Attendo, we dared to think differently. By listening to those at the heart of care – and their loved ones – we took the first steps toward transforming care with the customer at the center.

We have driven change – from institutional care to care in the home or homelike settings, from collective solutions to personal choice and influence. We have introduced innovations such as personal care contact, quality systems, and lifestyle nursing homes. We were also early adopters of measuring and openly sharing our quality results. All of this to improve security, transparency – and above all: a personalised care that sees the uniqueness in every individual.

40 years with Attendo

Today, Attendo operates in Finland, Sweden, and Denmark. We build modern nursing homes, provide home care services, and offer support for children, young people, and adults with special needs.

Every encounter, every care instance, and every experience of care are formed by our dedicated and skilled employees. They are the ones who make a difference every day – driving both Attendo and the future of care forward.

To see, listen to and meet every person based on their individual needs – that is the foundation of everything we do. After forty years in the service of care, we know that it takes more than just resources and routines. It takes something that can’t be measured, but is always felt.

That we put our hearts into it.

Focus on customers, relatives, and employees

A lot has happened during Attendo’s 40 years in care. Today, the customer’s needs are at the center, relatives are actively involved, and employees are seen as specialists in developing care.

Attendo's innovations

Attendo was founded with a clear goal to be a leader in high quality care. In the climate of the times, the very idea that a private company could handle a part of publicly run care, was an innovation in and of itself.
